About Tea:

Black or Grey and best when Green
In Texas, they'll tell you that all tea is Brown

A lot of things are brown in Texas
...the color of bullshit, and sun-dried lawns

In Japan, it's steeped one cup at a time
in a ceremony called Cha-No-Yu
And "NAMU AMIDA BUTSU" floats in the air

A far cry from
Southern roadside diners where
Industrial steel urns
churn it out
Pitcher after cheap, plastic pitcher
To be poured over glaicers of ice cubes
And mixed with carcinogens (for taste)

Tea will take spice or milk or honey or mint- even fruit
like noble companions, and will mingle with dignity
While heaps of white sugar
or ANYTHING from a small paper packet
Batters it's way in
With a warrant that reads,
"YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH...

Maybe...YOU NEED TO be SAVED!!"

In Texas, they'll tekk you that all tea is brown,
and it's hard not to laugh...
when you know better...
