Cafe Du Monde
French Market coffee stand
Beignets and hot, strong chickory coffee
Waiters in white shirts and bowties
Tourists, Locals, Drunks, and Hangers-on
Brass band on the street outside
and mule driven carriages queing at Jackson Square
The bells of St. Louis peal
Announcing the timeless hour
Of Beignets and Chickory
As the river flows,
Like she did 100 years ago

I love Cafe du Monde. My
I love Cafe du Monde.
My soul lives there, though unfortunately my body has to reside elsewhere.
I also particularly like the streets down by the Mint. Its a little grungier there and seems to feel more like the real New Orleans than the more touristy areas.
