Waiters in white shirts and bowties
Tourists, Locals, Drunks, and Hangers-on
Brass band on the street outside
and mule driven carriages queing at Jackson Square
The bells of St. Louis peal
Announcing the timeless hour
Of Beignets and Chickory

I am a combat veteran of the USAF, and I often explore those experiences in my poetry. Not every line of every poem is "textbook" true...but every feeling, every emotion has had it's beginning in an experience I have felt, and felt deeply...A given poem may or may not be a "snap shot" of my lfe...but they all form a mosaic of my psyche.
In my work I explore the human condition by writing uncomfortable poetry about uncomfortable parts of life: War and how we react to it as soldiers and citizens. I live in San Antonio, TX with my wife and love of my life, Julie.

My soul lives there, though unfortunately my body has to reside elsewhere.
I also particularly like the streets down by the Mint. Its a little grungier there and seems to feel more like the real New Orleans than the more touristy areas.
