candy hearts
In my hand was left a box of candy hearts,
each had a sweet phrase, written
in pink lettering.
I emptied the container on the table
examining each heart
for breaks.
None were broken in this box.
So I arranged them with
the words up.
Playing with the words on the hearts
silly stuff, really, saying
Love you, I'm sure.
I picked these two up, eating them
tasting the sugar,
digesting.

I loved this one it brought back memories yet again,
I do remember the candy you talk about we used to get them also haven`t seen them for a few years now though.
but we used to love reading them before we popped them in our mouths to relish the sweet. thanks for the memory, great poem from Willow
Yes
they brought back memories to me as well, all pleasant. I used to make funny sentences out of a box of them, just a busy mind I suppose. Thanks for commenting. raskin
