Dance of summer

Sitting in the middle of the yard is a beauty
arched, resting, quiet
the buds swelling
with each warm day
some will look
seeing only floppiness
there are those who will perceive
the joy in the graceful dip
starting the dance of summer
blossoms lying softly on the grass
huge, unable to hide their exuberance
the peony

You Got Me

raskin,

Early on in the piece I thought you were referring to a sunflower...you got me in the end.

Pete

peonies

start the dance, sunflowers finish it off. I wasn't thinking of them but you are right, same arch they move with the sun. Probably more of a dancer than a peony. raskin

Good

Now, at least I don't feel like a damned fool.

Write on,

Pete

lovely, raskin

really one of the most beautiful poems I've seen. A real keeper!!

joyce

Thank you

that is very kind of you. I was driving down some roads and saw these peonies they were beautiful the way they arched, I loved the grace in their stance. raskin
