Gaillardia
I sit on the little concrete steps
as I did when I was a girl.
I watch as
cars pass
as I always have.
The gaillardia grows in what is
left of the lawn,
they were my mothers favorites.
Red and yellow petals
happily they reseed
and grow.
Easy.
