games of chance
I hear about the game of life,
roll the wheel,
round and round it goes
where it stops nobody knows.
Life as a game of chance
up to how the dice fall
or how the cards are dealt.
It always seems to be up to fate,
little attention to how
the cards or dice are played.
The focus is on the hand dealt
not the people playing it.
I learned a long time ago
not to play the cards,
it's not so much how fate plays me
but how I play fate.

You got that right
Esther,
Many of the great poker players win more by playing their opponents than by playing the cards in their own hand. It's all in perception and the ability to read other folks.
Sal
Thanks
Eugene, I liked this one I was listening to Mary Chapin Carpenter she has a great song about tempting fate it is one of my favorites. I grew up playing poker, just pennies or chips but it was all the same learned a lot about people. I learned how honesty really disarms people, great lesson one I kept my whole life. Sus
