Liberty can mean many things depending on the circumstances.
For me it is the spark of light that guides me home,
the freedom to be,
defend what I am,
it is my self determination.
I am enfranchised by nature.
A fiery torch in the dark
lights my way
the path of my certitude
stretches out before me
into the distance.
Persevere when all seems lost
the dark may appear to be dimming the light,
believing in the hope
of liberty
fuels that flame
creating brilliance
casting the shadows back
into the abyss of the dark
where they have no definition,
no power.
