The moon hangs in the sky
a light embedded in the dark.
The lake is quiet and still
in the night, lying
tranquil.
Waiting for the illumination
of the moon path
on her surface
to shimmer.
Light floats between
the shadows of night,
parting the dark
like a palisade,
a luminescent path
for me to follow.
