Reflecting
Conifers arranged along the banks
as though sculptures, living.
Looking at each one lined
as they are around the pond,
each a form, linking
one to the next
writing the story of this garden.
Times of the past,
forming the story of the present,
guiding the future.
Living among this in the water
quietly swimming,
almost leisurely, the koi
in all their colorful splendor,
a moving rainbow.
Reflecting on this
I drink my tea.

Nice one Raskin ... I just joined this site three days ago and I cannot believe the pool of creative juices here!
I love this set of lines:
Times of the past,
forming the story of the present,
guiding the future.
I really love the whole thing... You brought me to this place and I was next to you drinking my coffee
The ending is perfect
Great Job!

I love the Japanese gardens, if you have been to one the trees and bushes are trimmed in ways that almost look like characters. I really find it fascinating. raskin
