Shadow on the beach
The sun is angled in the sky, bright.
I walk along the beach, the sand is firm
the ocean curls in, rolling to shore,
finally, surrounding my feet in the foam.
Seagulls fly dipping, coasting
then landing on the sand,
I watch them.
A shadow catches my eye
moving with me
matching my rhythm as I walk,
together we stroll,
watching the gulls, picking up shells
enjoying the day at the beach.

Great Poem
Another great one Raskin
reminded me of when we were kids and used to try and catch our shadows up as we walked .lovely words and well written from Willow
Thanks
I never did catch that shadow, maybe I should have had it sewn on. I used to chase the birds along the shore as well. raskin
no can do raskin
the things we used to do as kids like catching shadows or looking for gold at the end of the rainbow never did find the end of the rainbow let alone find the pot of gold,
such sweet innocence is the magical world of chidren, and such a long time ago funny the little things we remember your poem brought it all back thankyou raskin.
looking for the end of the rainbow
I laughed when I read that, funny silly thoughts that seem real when we are young. One Christmas I asked Santa for a leprechan, I really believed. But I didn't get one that may have been the last year I believed in Santa. raskin
Rainbow gold
you will laugh now raskin I told my son there was gold at the end of the rainbow and he ran down the garden looking at both ends to see what was nearest ha ha .I also was decorating one year and I had stripped the paper off the walls I wrote underneath
I Ebenezer Scrooge in the year 1800 buried treasure in garden .take, 12 paces foward and 12 to the right and start digging,to find the treasure there in.
I never had my garden dug so quick from one so willing .and he never lived it down since
I tell my grand children those little stories about their father and the pot of gold and the treasure dig.
funny
That's really good. Thanks for the laugh. raskin
