Sweet fragrance

The evening air hung in the garden,
Moon flowers trailed up the trellis
like full moons against the backdrop of the night.
Bee balm, Lavender mixed with the honeysuckle
as the aromas took over,
expanding, multiplying, compounding,
dancing along the currents
as the breeze stirred.
The rosebush flush with white flowers rustled,
as the viburnum was overcome by the blossoms,
Petunias released their sweet fragrance.
I sat on the steps taking it in, inhaling,
chewing the scents as they overcame me.
This night was heady with the bouquet
of my garden.
