Ruby Beach

Salt-rimmed sea stacks covered in Ponderosa Pine,
sun-drenched cedars lay on zephyr blown sands.
Seagulls soar off when Rhododendron leaves rustle;

Lake City

The fireflies that filled Betty’s mason jars
once lit the Wabasha County sky.
Now caught between glass and tin,
on iced railroad tracks behind the barn,

Icy wrath

Only when it's cold, I find myself there again.
It was awhile ago, but not long enough
to wipe the mark off my soul.

Why did I let you walk down that stair case,

The Road Ends Here

The highway lines painted on my soul,
the only shoulder I have left to cry on.
Every time I get the urge to go
there's no more West to travel.

All my life I took to the road,

Broken Prose

Anxiety. Calamity.
Baby's Breath and Chai Tea.
Broken amethyst.
Creepy little noises.
Bubblegum and lost love.
Tranquility. Serenity.
Chances never taken.
I miss a place I hate.
