Broken Memories

Blankets of sunshine
Envelop the room
Dog-eared photographs
Abandoned from their frames

Shards of glass
Seven years of bad luck imprinted on knuckles
Memories slurred
Shrouded in a fog
With no headlights to guide the way

Invisible spiders
Weave intricate webs
Ensnaring fragments of a memory
The reflection of a stranger
Staring back

Indecision wrecks havoc
Down a telephone line
Coiled in her hand
Straight shooter with a crooked grin
And madness etched on his face

All captured in a photograph
Screaming one thousand words.
