Karma's chokehold

Karma’s got me by the throat
Watching my consciousness falter
Waiting for when I least expect it
To press harder, harder…
The suspension of breath
Only emphasizes my desperate attempt
To hold on to happiness
In its purest form
But it only continues, as colours start to drain
In a frantic display of shattered self-defense
All I can do is writhe in pain
As it writes into my skin, K-A-R-M-A…
Darkness invades, the curtain falls
As the memories start to flood
The story is down the walls
With a conclusion written in blood.

An Interesting Write RS!

Are you a buddhist? I love the content, and your use of language here.
I can almost 'hear' this being spoken.

Thank-you vey much :)
I'm not a Buddhist actually, but I'm interested as to what made you think that?

Hi There!

I suppose the depiction of consciousness faltering and the mention of karma more than once in your verse. This got me thinking about the concepts of Buddhism;.)
