an unpredictable happenstance

N the words lingered
In her heart and mind
It wasn’t as bad as she feared
In fact she was gratified

It was somewhat a rejection
But it didn’t cause as much pain
Cause it was the truth she had understood all along
Not wanting to feel in vain

Such things had its time and place
That she knew as a fact
But somehow she couldn’t help the feelings
And for a long time with them she dealt

It was always a masquerade
Every time they met
She was afraid such things would get in the way
And in their friendship cause a crack

But putting her inhibitions aside
She talked to him one night
Like a puzzle fixed with tender patience
For once in a long time, she felt alright

So it had to be taken back to the beginning
When it was all lucid and filled with mirth
Still having a special place
But singing to a tune that wouldn’t hurt

Hello Renu...

I love this. I am sorry it took me a couple days to sneak a peak but your writing is lovely and emotion packed. Seems we have walked the same path a little :o)
