As we sipped our tea...
You looked in my eyes and I looked in yours.
Sipping our tea after a long day of chores.
You smiled when I spoke of the good old days.
When we played side by side under the sun and her rays.
Nibbling left-overs of the cake we had baked, for children running a riot
Now the moon was out,no kids were about ,we enjoyed the peace and quiet.
We recalled the times we had stupidly fought.
Discussed our feelings and what we both thought.
I had listened to you and you listened to me.
I had emptied my heart, just then I felt free.
My eyes became heavy and I lay on my side,
failing to hide my yawning although I tried.
Suddenly I woke with sunshine on my face.
Still in the room and in the same place.
You had put a blanket over me and next to me water.
Looked out the window, you were there with my daughter.
My heart was light with love for you,
and all the thoughtful things you'd do.
Just then I bowed and prayed out loud
for my little sister that did me proud.
Your duty to me and my duty to you,
is to love eachother like you know we do.
