THAT NICE OLD MAN...

I'll never forget that nice old man who smiled as I entered his store.
He ran up to the front and held back the big glass door.
I was 8 and with my mum and we were shopping for some flowers.
We looked around this garden store for quite a good few hours.

The nice old man kept on smiling and he helped us choose our buy,
and I can say with honesty he was the least judgmental guy.
He was happy that we came and glad to have us round,
And mum was pretty chuffed with the flowers that she found.

Before we left I noticed, a busy lizzie on the floor,
And I never saw such pretty pink flowers like that in my life before.
I loved it so, and was about to go, when suddenly he came.
''This plant is just for you, busy Lizzie is it's name.''

I was taken back by the kindness of this smiley old new friend.
And I looked after Lizzie, and she looked after me.
I remember this old man, for the smile he didn't pretend.
Lizzie and I grew close and wild and I'm grateful she was free!

What a beautiful piece about unabashed and open freidliness and giving. We should all encounter such people in out everyday lives, what an improvement that would put on the face of mankind.

Great read,

Pete

an improvement indeed Pete...

its funny how the little things are what you remember most and its amazing how a smile can change the face of mankind.....so much more easier just to smile than it is to frown...thanks a lot for commenting and I'm glad u liked, peace.
