Falling

I fell into those liquid pools of lies
I fell as flake of snow to fiery hell
Falling headlong to my hearts demise,
for her, I would my very soul to sell.

Seeking love elusive to all men,
the harlot and the angel unified
My reasons, though obscure, I would defend,
as my sad reality I try to hide.

I fell through chasms, eternal in their shame
I fell until my falling was complete
No more would I ever be the same,
now at one with loveless lust and cruel deceit.

Bereft my shield of golden honesty
Devoid of palisades, or castle keep
For her I would abandon sanity,
as waterfalls traverse unsmiling cheek.

With her I shared a union never known,
the predator and prey now intertwined
My mantle of truthfulness outgrown,
the grape I drank perished on the vine.

Yes I fell, as would a falling star,
falling as an angel from his grace
No more to me the love of ladies fair,
as in the falling, devils kissed my face.
