As One

As One
for Debs :) aka Scareysquirel

In a world of many,
carbon copies each of us.

Our physique makes us unique,
“appearance such a fuss.”

We tend to blend together,
when huddled in a crowd.

Just fading mundane paintings,
thousand words no longer loud.

Strange the revere from those that leer
that feel we just won’t do,

These passer-bye’s with their lame eyes
it’s they who’re feeling rue.

Stand tall among these fellows,
like trees found in a field.

No shade from sun or rain,
harsh wind they do not shield.

When shelter is required,
beneath us they are found.

Not standing tall beside us
but hiding on the ground.

Ron, Thankyou!

I am very touched that you have written this for me. 'Standing tall' and be able to sheild ourselves from the harshest of winds..i love that concept! This is a poem of strength.

sometimes we need to cast our arms about and over the ones we love to shield and protect when they need our help,
just like what you have been doing with your sister.

you are not alone though sometimes stand as one.

Thoughtful

Thats very thoughtful of you Ron, as you know she hasnt been well. But its amazing how you come through these things and find strength from the very people who are actually suffering. I think no matter how old she gets, I will always be that protective influence in her life, and her to me. As I have been from the moment she was born.
