Esbat

Slowly creeping by above,
high up in the sky.
Meager beams do sliver thru
gathered only by my eye.

A glowing ball so far away,
games of hide and seek.
No effort from its glassy skin,
brightness will often peek.

Full in its roundest shape and size
wolves at it do howl.
Affecting tides and human minds,
the dogs a cause to growl.

If I was found upon its ground,
sunglasses would I need?
Evening walks without a light,
my pathway it would lead.

But hide it does not always do,
bold and in full view.
I sit while gazing in the night,
so faintly in its hue.
