Eyes wide open

I want to watch you come
to me and see
how much
I want and need,
longing to be.

Just say you want
it too today,
all day.
We need the time
to grow and play.

Together sharing thoughts
in both our minds
and soul and hearts
reading the signs.

We’ll stroll the beach
or take a walk,
both hand in hand
and sit and talk.

I write all day
about ideas,
acting out my dreams
sharing my fears.

I see you with eyes wide open …
