Farewell

Farewell

There was a time
I heard just your call.

That sound now is silent,
on deaf ear it does fall.

Watch my back as I leave,
I no longer can stay.

Hold your thorn tongue,
I leave you today.

Not one more minute,
shall my watch tell for you.

That face has two hands,
Waving goodbye to you.

Good Write

Have just read your piece "On The Shelf", another good write, very sad and you captured a truly lonely feeling throughout. After reading that piece and the attached comments, this almost seems like a continuation of the story. If that's the case, then good luck to you mate, and if I've totally misread it.....well it wouldn't be the first time, and unlikely to be the last! Ha Ha.
Good piece, thanks for the read,
Dave

Hello David,

You are right on the money. Farewell is a continuation of On the Shelf.

Ron
