Gene's
Gene’s
X and Y in a helicoil
determines what we’ll be.
At birth we get both good and bad,
what kind of eyes used to see.
Father’s Y gave the height and girth,
mother’s X hair and skin.
Grandpa’s bad cholesterol,
grandma’s reassuring grin.
So who did give our love and hate,
attitudes and desires?
Where in the world do we attain
how to be saints or liars?
This seems to me
at best to be
a crapshoot without reason.
A leo or
a capricorn
depending on the season.
Can all we are
be blamed or thanked
due to a night of passion?
Or are our genes
not just Levi’s,
going in and out of fashion?

Good one
Brought to mind for me where my sense of humor came from. How could I not have a good sense of humor coming from people who would row a cow to pasture on the mainland from the island they lived on, raised 12 kids on that island. They all smiled in the pictures. Lots of good stories. You asked yourself an interesting question. raskin
its in the dice
