Her Rock Garden

Her Rock Garden

never does she worry
if the rain is on its way
sun or clouds don’t matter
or planting in late may

some are easily positioned
it a woman’s changing choice
selected by their demeanor
not their tone of voice

no produce to pick and gather
at the end of the season
she walks about her rock garden
without pointing rhyme or reason

in the center of this quarry
is her favorite oak tree
the branchs wide and spacious
casting shadows aimlessly

pictures just can’t capture
the beauty of it all
the garden has its many looks
winter thru to fall

this garden that she tends to
is hers and hers alone
she places what she finds about
all are made of stone

only she can give her love
to things that have no soul
only she can cultivate
making diamonds out of coal

if these pieces of quarts and granite could talk whatever would they say
i think that they would smile at her
in hope they made her day
