Its just me
Always emptiness,
singularity personified.
Lonely solitude,
thoughts remain contained.
Enslaved in a prison without confines,
no hope of escape.
Leave me be to my ponderings,
I am the one and only.

Alone is a place I am very used to being. With no siblings and both my parents passed, I always feel very alone. I try and spend time with my son, but he has his college life and friends to enjoy.
That is why I try and hold onto friends so dearly.

I tried to capture how humans in general are a very lonely creatures. We are held captive in our own bodies and minds. If not for verbal and written communications we would be alone in our thoughts.

just being irreverent
there's always hand signals, I'm fond of the whole dot's and dashes that takes a bit of time. I am being silly, you illustrated your point well. I think there is a difference between loneliness and being alone. Interesting poem. raskin
