Moonbeams
Cloaked in the shadow from the tall oak tree
I quietly wait watching the moon.
Sweeping across the evening sky
my head is beginning to swoon.
Nightly shades of gray and black
swatch’s of tone, void of color and bland.
The light from the nocturnal heavenly ball
is what illuminates all where I stand.
A cricket, an owl, a bat flying by
using the cold damp dark evening night air.
Together sharing the very same place in the yard
existing without having a care.
There’s peace and calmness
not found in the day
when darkness is easily found.
A time in my hours
as they come to an end
hearing music that comes from no sound.
A faint beckoning starts
and draws my notice
it calls to me ever so sweetly.
I retire my being
on sheets made of silk
ending my day so completely
Now over my shoulder
my window painlessly
grants access allowing the moonbeams’
To enter the bedroom
and join in my slumber
shedding its glow to buffer my night dreams.

1st silk sheets are a must. Calmness is such a great thing.
Now that all has left my house of party, I relax with an ice cold glass of H2O.
What a day!
I love the poem. :)
