On the Shelf
On the shelf
Dusty and dark
on the back of the shelf,
is where you put me to stay.
I use to be
up front with the others,
but now I’m out of your way.
No longer wanted
or used anymore,
discarded like yesterdays news.
Blindsided I was
from out of the blue,
our times just merely a ruse.
So here I sit
one day I’ll be gone,
and leave this dusty dark shelf.
I’ll find some place else
where the welcome matte’s out,
not alone and all by myself.

Just Thinking...
Just thinking those very same thoughts today Ron. Isn't it amazing how others love you one minute, then shun you the next?! it seems to me like people have no sense of consistency, or loyalty to that matter. Love the last stanza especially.

Your are the third ( including myself) person that feels like this. These are the days when I have to say "It is what it is" and move on. What's up with the one's we think we could count on ???

Beats Me!

It's interesting
what can be found on dusty old shelves especially when your not looking. I liked this expression, I wrote one about a jar on the shelf. What is it about placing things on shelves is it common to place things there then forget? raskin

I use to here this expression at work when a person is pushed aside when they are no longer useful. Shame how people can do that to another human being.
thank you Raskin for reading and I appreciate your comments as always

Placed There
Once again a good write. I find that dust can become equal in value to anything on a shelf but its not the appearance nor the age of the object but the Subject, the content the Core, the heart, what is inside. Let the joy of the message not come from only opening it, nor reading it but sharing it!
Thank your for sharing your message and lonely heart, may it not stay long on the shelf but seek out the light of day.
