Who do you see?
Who do you see ?
I awoke this morning to find
that I was wearing a costume.
I neither remember buying it
nor putting it on.
Please tell me,
“Who do you see?”
I close my eyes and see
a twenty-seven year old man
with vim and vigor.
The attitude and confidence
still resides in me.
It’s all here just under this façade.
“Who do you see?”
I found I was called “Sir”,
no longer by my Christian name,
questions always questions.
May I get you something?
Should I speak louder for you?
Is it to warm or cold in here?
What happen last night?
Can someone tell me,
“Who do you see? “
Let me rise from this steel railed bed.
Where’s my slippers?
Who put me in this white gown?
Why are these machines hooked up to me?
Oh, hello nurse, yes, I’ll be good.
But before you go, please, please tell me,
“Who do you see?”
