I
She calls me
but I cannot hear the name
across the lines of destiny walking a tightrope
of
intertwining complexity
Where is a guide to follow
for I am fallen
not by the side
but far beyond the realms of man
this is my sentence to play
one I cannot return to the grave
Years pass spent like petals blown by the winds
in a summer breeze I can no longer feel
brushing by my cheek with earthy warmth
where now I know only a harsh coolness
This is how I've descended
how far I've gone
there's no pedestal to climb
or rewards left to reap
only tomorrow
and the next day
ad infinitum

A Masterful Write!!!
This flows very softly with an air of sad about it. I'm having a hard time deciding which lines I like the best. This poem wow's me yet I was suprised to see that there were no comments. This is a masterpeice!
...for I am fallen...
gentle desolation, as if it crept upon you unaware and waited to reveal itself until the way back was lost
haunting and beautiful
