Small Child Crawls
Eyes wide
Teardrops falling
Bangs
Shuddering of
Neighbouring
Walls
Small child crawls
Around
The wreckage.
Hums are heard
Bodies run
For cover.
Drips of blood
Protrude
Seep
Into the open wounds
Of others.
Wails for the mourning
Screeching
Hollering
Death
Death
Death
Has met them.
Small child crawls
Around
The wreckage.

Very emotional, very disturbing piece.
The 1st time I read it, on the day it was posted, I was unable to formulate a proper response. I found the imagery in this piece to be very strong.
It tugged at my heart.
This scene is something you see happening everyday across the globe - and might very easily be happening at this very moment.
I read this as yet another senseless terrorist act.
And here is another innocent child caught up in the middle of it all.
God bless our children, and all the beautiful ones
who have experienced such tragic scenes as this.
My heart goes out to each and every one of them.
Kudos, Scareysquirel. The word flow and imagery
left quite an impact.
Thankyou Dear Freind
It was indeed my intention to portray the horror's of war. We see it everyday on the news, but can merely imagine the destruction and devastation it causes. The very real effects that the people involved experience, pain not only of the body but of the mind aswell.
This piece was based on a very real situation I watched unfold on the news channel, it was so heart breaking to see this child, indeed crawl around amongst the rubble. I was left thinking many things 'Will anyone help this tiny child?' And what is the true cost it will have on his life?
I am in no doubt that these wars will continue, and as we speak continue on.
Blessings to you.

a voice for the speachless
I felt the emotion overflowing through your words and pictured the actions as i read through each line. It really is heartbreaking how devasting things like this can be and some dont have the strength to fight it and others dont have a voice to speak up and stop it from happing. I believe this peice is not only beautiful, deep , and portrays an extremely deep and real sence of emotion and how rough life is for some but also gives people a hope to a better day because it may give them the strength they need to fight against this torture. soo words are unworthy to define most emotions fully but i think you did an excellent job i absolutly loved this peice and i felt each word as well as saw images. five stars!

Its Great
You felt and took so much from this piece Katie.
It is so true, often they dont have 'a voice' and who on earth will represent them, fight their cause? I only hope, that like the many aid organisations, we too can help in some way. Maybe through our words?
Blessings dear freind
