And still the city is alive
I don’t mean to burst your bubble
As this city turns to rubble
And society collapses in on itself
Keep that holy book on that high shelf
As everything around it begins to implode
But there’s not much time to try to decode
The enigma of eternal infinity
Wondering whether you can reach serenity
And still the city is alive
Breathing, but breathing hard trying to survive
Gasping for air to fill its car infested lungs
The streets that once echoed with love songs
Are now nothing but concrete railroads
Dreaming of becoming telephone chords
We build up to the sky making our own horizons
Knowing full well that it is our sons
And our daughters that will have to suffer
It’s a rough patch that’s about to get rougher
Passing signs that say “under construction”
But they should say “over construction”
The Byzantine businessmen march on
Leaving dusk and finding dawn
And still the city is alive
Pounding heart, with its high blood pressure dive
Ever expanding, an over populated abyss
Ever demanding, the chaos of peace

Deep..
And intense. I like this write very much, and your other write you posted today.
I read a quote last night that reminded me of the ending line of this piece-
'Everyone wants to change humanity, but no-one is willing to change themselves'
(Tolstoy)
