A man walks down a busy street
he knows well,
while grabbing a tight leash
to a helpful dog.
Tighter
and tighter
the leash is pulled,
until it snaps.
The man not knowing

If I could,
for just a moment,
I would show you the pain I have.
How I sit in this empty room
and I can’t breathe.
Everywhere I look
I can see you,
and a memory we made.
I can’t be here.

Your white chariot awaits
your slumber command,
guide it to gumdrop land.
With lollipop trees
and chocolate streams.
Where they sky is a rainbow
and the clouds are puffy marshmallows.

I am darkness.
Creeping in silently,
suffocating light
with torturous pleasure.
Watching her bleed
in shades of reds and purples.
Staining the clouds
with her pain and desperate pleas.

Lured desire seeps
from a sweet kiss
and a naughty lick
on the lips of lust.
I seduce temptation
with the roll of my tongue
flick of the tip.
A rise from the sheets
meets my motion

Climbing up high
and crawling down low,
my little munchkin must be told.
Of what’s ok
and what’s not allowed.
He huffs and he puffs
and gives a loud growl.
He screams and he fights

I tried
Then I cried
I believed
Then I grieved
I escaped
Then I ached
I loved
Then I shoved
I broke
When I wrote
These words
Cutting like swords
Through my heart
That fell apart

You disappeared,
without a trace
and left me stranded.
A neglected piece of garbage
on some abandoned highway
I hook at the slightest thought of you
and hope that somehow,

In this colorful world
we share with birds of a feather,
do you ever feel silly
waving your rainbow banner?
I do not match any color
that symbolizes me.
I am hidden in-between,
