Crosses on the Highway

I would say that I was finished
but I forgot to begin
I lay you down to rest
then dig your ghost back up again
Years have gone by
I'm putting miles behind me
No matter where I go
you always find me.

I'm right where you left me
right where you left me
I'm grieving on Monday
Wearing black eyes Friday
Sunday morning comes
I'm planting crosses on the highway.

Today I saw your ghost
making flowers grow.
Purple flowers surreal
So real, I almost followed
Everything changes
one thing stays the same
I need to move on
at least that's what they claim.

I'm right where you left me
right where you left me
I'm grieving on Monday
Train wreck on Friday
Sunday morning comes
I'm planting crosses on the highway
I leave the wreath on the road
for everyone to see
I'm grieving for you
grieving for me
I'm right where you left me
right where you left me

Someone save me
Someone save me

Excellent
