Ophelia
as the reeds were waving, she was sitting
reading and waiting
sitting as the reeds were waveing
waiting for the firelight-
waiting for the darkluy smile
set within the handsome face
waiting for the boy, beguiled
lips lush with youth
eyes hard with age
sage, as the embers glowing
fire and the wind was blowing...
as the sun was setting, she was sitting
by the water's setting
as the rocks the lake was wetting
setting up for great life changes-
love and joy have left her
unlightened, her apathetic face
ages and sorrow have cleft her
all but life her
venemous vipers
knifers, with no second glance
come to steal her innocence
as the night was coming, she was running
running and humming
as the woods around her, thrumming
sung the ballad of her death-
midrun she remembered the dress
she wanted to wear to her wedding with-
she steals off the corpse the sunday best
she is the second
still water beckoned
reckoned, to die for her danish prince
she must give the water her innocence
