Goodbye!
I guess it's true when they say...
Time flies when you're having fun,
When you think the worst is over and it was only soaring from yesterday,
When all the goodbyes have been said,
Yea, most of the rain, the tears, the wine have dried...
A last whiff of Chinchilla air, the last stone you'd ever kick here and there...
Even the mud beckons like precious clay
The strangest of mates, the blondest of blokes, the warmest of friends,
They'll soon fade like wild flowering bushes on this hard desert earth
The winter cold like an unforgettable summer's day
Even kangaroos couldn't make me stay... and boy, do i long to tarry a while...
A pause in the sky, the clouds hover... and soon the birds fly home...
And you know that it's time to go
Well, I guess it's all true, time flies, we grow old... time flies, it's time to go... home...
Yes, me next... as surely as the sun rises tomorrow...
as surely as light propogates in straight lines
the packing must begin, the last documents sent in, the pile of laundry cleaned...
and me, lonely as ever can be, will i be, on my journey home...
a thousand friends behind me, a million more before me
but this journey of many thousand miles, is one i take alone... to go home.
