The Plot Thickens

Has it come so soon? The end of me..

Weeks of plotting and now the final strategy

A merciless, painful and fatal squeeze

Finish her! Kill her! How they hiss..

These envious creatures roam in Eden

Hungry for power, they devour and threaten

I'm young, I'm daft, I failed to see

What's in my lap is not yet meant to be

With each bloody thread, they had spun my grave

A deadly cocoon, my final enclave

Spare me some respite, you vultures of night

The sun yet will shine, my future in sight

My hope is not built on sand nor on men

It's built on my Jesus, my sole salvation

Your futile stranggling will abound to no damage

In Christ, my life's story has at least one more page

The plot thickens but you've lost the wheel

You burn all my bridges but I steadfastly kneel

If Jericho came down and the Red Sea was parted

My new life awaits me, you creatures outsmarted

How murderous are the hearts of men!

How horrible are the schemes they plan!

But the end of me comes not today

For my Master has the rightful say

His plans for me are to prosper me

Non harmful but hopeful, they shall be

I shall seek and when I find God,

He shall release me from your evil rod.
