I remember the day when we had to say good bye
I remember your helpless face when in agony you’d cry
I remember how mum would sit at night in pain
Your dying at that crucial time was too much for her to contain

The tears we shed and our hearts which bled when seeing you suffering on your death bed.
Dad, in despair would sit in the waiting room chair crying so hard, it was too much to bear.

We kept telling ourselves that things would be fine
But inside we all knew you were at the end of your line
You thought we were happy, but we were all in such shock
Your death at the time we were all trying to block

Your attitude and strength we could only admire. Your smile filled our hearts with a longing desire as it ripped through our pain like a burning hot fire.

You went in such peace; you just closed your eyes
Straight after we all had just said our good byes

When death does eventually knock at my door,
I’ll hug you and kiss you like never before

Rest in peace my dear little brother we shall meet again and hold one another.
When the time comes I’ll embrace death with pride
As I know now for certain you’ll be waiting on the other side.
