Bad Dream

Bad Dream

The stars fall down and slip under my sheets
To hump my dreams like a dog in heat
The darkness of midnight seep into my ears
To void out my innermost fears
Replacing chaos with audible silence
Turning my wrongs into rights-this peaceful violence
“Nothing” is now a beautiful thing
The ghetto streets are now squeaky clean
This movie now ends but I do not clap
Pissed off about the time that has elapsed
Pissed even more of the incomprehensible plot
About all of the “haves” that really had not.
A child catches a beautiful bumble bee
And the song she now cries rocks me back to sleep
Under my sheet the stars still meet
They hump my mind like a dog in heat.
