A Long Way Gone

A Long Way Gone

She’s a long way gone
Far from home
Another long lost soul
Her dreams have past
They died too fast
No one to “have” and “hold”

Now she has doubts
She can do without
A man by her side
And as time goes on
She thinks she’s strong
And feels that she still has her pride

When it comes to men
She has her “friends”
At least she’s not getting hurt
Her heart is cold
And is now growing old
And they still treat her like dirt

But it doesn’t really matter
Because her pocket’s getting fatter
She plays them all like fools
Shows no emotions
Don’t give any devotion
She’s learned to live by these rules

And they show no pity
Grabbing ass and titties
They take her for all she’s got
And when they’re done
And had their fun
They leave her there to rot

She no longer care
That love is not there
It is so astounding
She’s lost all hope
Don’t want any rope
It’s like saving fish from drowning

Her heart is closed
Don’t offer her a rose
You’d just be wasting your time
Your rose will soon die
She’ll still love her lie
And be bitter like a lime

Her eyes have no gleam
She has no self esteem
And no one to call her own
And you better not dare
To show her you care
For she is a long way gone
