Why I Love You

Why I Love You

Not long ago you asked me why do I love you and I had no reply.
I could have stated a dozen reasons but I didn’t even try.
Cause all those things are conditional, your look, your style, your flair
But those things couldn’t begin to tell you the reasons that I care
I wanted to tell you how safe I feel when you are by my side
I wanted to say how honored I am when you let me be your guide
I wanted to tell you how much your presence has a way to inspire
Or how you don’t ask of me material things that most women desire
I wanted to tell you that I admire the way we often communicate
And that every moment that I’m with you feel like our first date
Or how you saw pass my outer shell, my pretending to be a rebel
And how you tend to lift my soul to that spiritual level
Or how you treat everyone you meet with the utmost respect
And how you voice the way you feel but somehow you come correct
And even though all these things are true they still don’t adequately reveal
That answer trapped inside my heart on how I really feel
I love you because you exemplify God’s true love for me
I love you because, just like God, you love me unconditionally.

If somebody loves you

If somebody loves you unconditionally you must be very lucky. I saw in your poem the true love. Good job!
