Flowers bloom in the sun,
blooming wildly in fields, hills, valleys..
Sun gives life
to otherwise dead seeds,
and life rises from the frozen ground in spring.

Beyond the farms,
beyond the fields,
deep in the wasteland mountains...

A valley sinks,
low and deep,
into the darkness within the earth.
upon it's lips flowers bloom,
bushes of pink, blue, purple flowers
tiny and insignifigant.

Sun cannot penetrate the darkness of the valley.
Wind whistles through it,
blowing dust, sand, stones down,
down into the darkness.

Within the darkness,
without the sun,
a single flower blooms.

Black petals unfold to absorb the dark,
thorned stem stretched out
like a thorny arm reaching for life
above the darkness.

Deep in the dark,
hidden from the sun,
a single Darkness Rose blooms..
