Ideal
It would be ideal
if I had someone to love.
It would be ideal
if that someone loved me back.
It would be ideal
if I had a heart
big enough to let him enter.
It would be ideal
if he could do the same for me.
It would be ideal
if we met in the rain.
It would be ideal
if we talked not at all.
It would be ideal
if we understood each other
at first glance.
It would be ideal
if I loved him.
It would be ideal
if he loved me.
It would be ideal
if this could come true.
But now real life swings into view.
And the ideal is just a dream.
Just a memory.

Sadness...
This poem really touched my heart...It made me truely sad, especially the last few lines...Thank you for such a wonderful piece of literature.
And I look to the sky, and get lost in the sea of blue--lost in my dreams.

Ideal
A real sense of yearning, wanting and longing for. Very sad. A piece that many people could relate to at some point in life. Great work.

it is so sad that this poem is true it would be ideal if it were not. two of my friends have this conversation nearly everyday they say say happy endings never come true... that is the truth i only wish it were not but wishing doesn't do much good it merely set you up for disappoinment
