Soon You'll Be Gone

In the morning
You'll be gone.

I'll help you
Pack your bag
As we listen
To our favorite song.

We'll hug and kiss
And wish
Our passion
Could last
A little longer.

As we kiss
We'll both miss
The heavenly bliss
We shared all night long.

I'll carry your bag
Across the front lawn,
And put it in your car.

Then we'll share
Our final kiss.

I'll hug you tightly,
You'll assure me
It's all right,
And you'll call me
Tomorrow.

I'll smile brightly
As my heart fills with
Sorrow.

I'll wave,
And watch you
Drive away
And savor
Your smile.

And I'll think of you,
And miss you
As you travel every mile.

With your memory in mind,
And your picture in hand,
I'll try to smile,
While trying to understand
Why you had to leave,
And why you couldn't stay,
And keep loving me.

But I have to be
A strong man
And accept
And understand
That there are others
Who love you too.

You have obligations
To another.

And
Stronger ties,
Stronger feelings,
Stronger emotions,
And a life
I can't give you.

But I'm just wondering,
Does your husband love you
As strongly as I do?

those lines pretty much sum up what will happen to me this summer as my boyfriend leaves me here to go to college. we are going to try and stay together, but i really dont think i can love anyone more than i love him. he leaves me in my house where i dont belong...but i will manage.i think your poems will help me through.

Thank you, Lynz

That was very sweet of you to say.
Parting with the one you love is never easy, even if it's only for awhile. Stay strong and don't let it get you down.
After he leaves, I'm sure there will be phone calls and letters exchanged and visits as well.
I shall indeed continue writing and attempting to become a better poet as I do. My thoughts and prayers are with you - TJ

I Like Your Poem
