Am I the One You Seek? ( a direct reply to a woman's prayer)
Another one of those chain emails with "a woman's prayer" as the basis. It made men sound rather shallow. Underneath was the man's reply and it made us sound like neanderthals...so I figured I'd write my own reply...
AM I THE ONE YOU SEEK? (a direct reply to a "womans prayer")
Before I rest my head at night...
To those I love I hug them tight,
I always give all that I am...
Stand tall, stand proud, I am that man,
Appealing looks, some say I'm fine...
With strength and wit, I'm keen of mind,
My woman speaks, and all that's said...
Keeps me enrapt, and fills my head,
I hear the words others may blurt...
My answers are thoughtful, sometimes they are curt,
Naive, I am not, and her feelings have clout...
I will call when I say, to remove all her doubt,
I work, in hard times, you still wouldn't seek...
If need be, I'd hustle, collect cans from a creek,
Don't get it twisted, what's mine is still yours...
But my account isn't just to fill all of your drawers!
In public or private chivalry is aware...
I open all doors, and pull out every chair,
Your body, I'll rub, with nothing to gain...
except seeing the pleasure, replace all your pain,
Most men just want sex, but I value your mind...
Combined with my thoughts, intimacy, we will find,
Compliments, always near, you'll never have to dig...
By the way, don't you know, your butts NEVER too big!
I will pledge all I am, all I have, what you need...
I will honor, be loyal, and will always take heed,
To cherish, be helpful, comforting when she's blue...
This is what I am, send me someone as true!
Amen.
