Hello all. The first poem I submitted was when I found love again. Unfortunately for me, nothing good ever seems to last. She was my greatest love and now is the cause of my biggest grief. this is what I wrote when I had to let her go...

LOVED AND LOST

Many people asked the question "what is this thing called love?"
Is it something that our minds made up or a gift from up above?
I can't answer for those souls because I'm responsible for mine,
but here is what I've learned of love during my short time.

Love can be, the most beautiful, experience in one's life...
it can also be the most painful process causing days of strife...
Love can be a joyous thing that must be felt to know....
it can also be the cause of one that is feeling very low....
Love can make you feel as if the world is yours each day...
but what happens to your world if that love is ripped away?

Love can give you strength to face your demons and your fears...
to conquer any pain you have and help dry up the tears....
But what will happen to the one that now is left alone,
without the strength, the care or love that felt so much like home?

How can my days be filled with joy now that my sun is gone?
How will I be able to get past the feelings for which I long?
How can I move past this time when I knew love so deep?
How can I let go of what was never mine to keep?

Love can make us do the strangest things and this is when it's true...
if you love someone, as deep as I, letting go we sometimes do...
Unselfishness, I have learned, is also part of loving...
even when that selfless act will cause you pain and suffering...

Love is strength, love is good, love is caring, love is food, Love can make you stand up tall and proud...
love is weakness, love is bad, love is hateful or can make you sad, love can make one scream out long and loud....

I can't regret the love I shared with one I truly adore....
even though I now curl up and cry just like a baby on the floor
that love I had was special to me in so many ways...
it's one of my most prized possessions I'll cherish the rest of my days!
