Morning Love

Time betrays my sleeping comfort,
The slits of sunlight escaping into the room from behind the curtains,
Breaking the silence protruding from the darkened room.
I keep still in my position next to my loved one,
The heat of his breath escaping to brush my cheek,
The warmth of his body draped over mine,
Ensuring such everlasting comfort and safety.
I want not to think of the day before me,
But to savor the waking moments I have wrapped in his arms.
What ecstasy to share the first moments of your day
With the one that you love,
I would wish it no other way.
His arms holding me tight,
Our legs entwined,
Smiles escaping through the sleep worn faces,
Knowing that we are waking up next to the person we love,
And knowing neither of us would have it any other way.
So lay with me a while longer in this sweet embrace,
A perfect display of morning love.
