A child lost, walking alone
hatred inside has grown
Where is mommy..smoking, high
her little boy lets out a sigh
Where is dad..gone away
tired of it and left one day

a heart broken, tattered, and torn
searching for answers, a nightmare is born
emotions beaten down and bruised
others laugh, easily amused
echoes of a scream, a cry, a moan
a soul wandering, lost, alone
only wanting a hand to hold
while walking through a life so cold
not able to face reality, pain
truths being told but only doubt to gain
waiting for it to be over, when will it end
not knowing how much a frail mind can bend
can words kill, hate consume
can love overcome, happiness resume
more than life to want the peace
a need so deep for the anger to cease
a wish to take it all away
start anew, hopefully today
never give up, never let go, never done
especially for the love of that special one
