a child lost
A child lost, walking alone
hatred inside has grown
Where is mommy..smoking, high
her little boy lets out a sigh
Where is dad..gone away
tired of it and left one day
A child lost, walking alone
pain inside has grown
Kicked out, beaten down
left in his own tears to drown
A long day, an endless night
searching for what's wrong or right
A child lost, walking alone
coldness inside has grown
What are the answers, what do you say
to the little boy who lost everything today
Let me help, let me in
fighting together we can win
A man lost, walking alone
hope inside has finally grown..

I'm not a poet, and certainly not a critic, but I like this with just the first verse, nothing else. The first lines pack such a punch, with such timing, that all else pales and distracts. Those lines may not convey all that is intended, but they sure do work. Very nice. I work with troubled youth, and if I may, I'd like to quote this from time to time as seems helpful. Those first lines even sound a bit like the timing of rap music, which these kids worship.

I accidently "flagged" this. I thought I was marking it as a favorite or something like that. I didn't realize that it flags the friggin' administrator?!
