Last Corner

Seems this time I need some rhyme, a reason to go on.

never to look back again..... just looking to beyond

What's lost is gone and there shall be, forever from my mind.

never looking, ever seeking... this place I've yet to find.

For now I think I'll close my eyes, forever on to wonder

what will it be? what will I see? to turn that long last corner?

It's not what I, ago foresaw.... horizons yet to find

lost to me .... forever gone, my eyes, they were so blind.

If I could stop at that first turn, a million miles ago,

never see what's yet to be, another way to show.

I've now to cross this place we call "field of past regrets"

to those I found, and those I lost and those I've never met.

So hold my hand just one more time and kindly call me friend,

The journey has been oh so long, a breast to lay my head.

your hand across my weary brow, to ease my troubled mind

forget you hear one long lost tear, that fell from looking hind.

Caress so soft across my face and bid me to go on

just one more mile or one more smile my day is almost done.

Thru choices made and chances gone and bridges that I've burned,

I cannot see what's yet to be.... last corner yet to turn.
