Movie Scene

It's a movie for two,
But I'm still the only one watching.
Scene by scene,
The plot inevitably hatching.
It's not long now until the titles roll over,
And I have already forgotten so much of the start.
I'm here putting the pieces together,
To try and fix my broken heart.
Trying to put together a happy last scene,
A smile in the last moment,
In spite of all the terrible things I've been.
It was supposed to be a movie,
With a sequel or two.
It seems now that there will be no follow ons,
Just a switch of the director from me to you.
